Stress has been linked to several brain disorders including anxiety, depression and PTSD, cardiovascular disease and hypertension, sleep and circadian rhythm issues, gastrointestinal conditions to include reflux and constipation. Understanding the stress response is a crucial aspect of patient management. Many patients seen in chiropractic offices have a stress component as part of their presenting complaint.
