An Introduction to Communicable Diseases - Credit Hours: 2 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2025

This 2-hour course is designed to provide doctors with basic information regarding the transmission of Hepatitis B and HIV. In addition, the course will provide the chiropractor with vital information regarding procedures to prevent the transmission of these diseases.

Basic MRI Part 1 - Credit Hours: 1 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2024

Although a detailed understanding of nuclear physics is not necessary to interpret MRI studies, chiropractors should have a solid understanding of the basic principles involved in producing MRI images. This course describes the basic fundamental principles shared by all MRI scanners.

Basic MRI Part 2 - Credit Hours: 1 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2024

The second part to this series will begin with a discussion regarding the multiplanar images of MRI, the shades of gray and the differences between T1 and T2 weighted images. We will then explore the special MRI studies that have been created to help identify different pathologies. This will include discussions on Fat Suppression, Contrast Enhanced and Functional MRI studies.

Basic MRI Part 3 - Credit Hours: 1 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2024

In the third part of this series we will discuss the Contraindications to MRI, how to read an MRI report, the MRI appearance of DDD, Ligamentum Flavum Hypertrophy, Disc Herniations, Annular Tears and Post-disc Surgical cases.

Cervicogenic Headaches - Credit Hours: 2 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2025

This course reviews the clinical presentation of cervicogenic headache, proposed diagnostic criteria, pathophysiologic mechanisms, and methods of diagnostic evaluation. Guidelines for developing a successful multidisciplinary pain management program using medication, physical therapy, osteopathic manipulative treatment, other non pharmacologic modes of treatment, and anesthetic interventions are also presented.

Chiropractic Ethics - Credit Hours: 2 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2024

This course will discuss personal, business, and professional ethics as they relate to chiropractic. We will review the ACA and ICA Code of Ethics. The course will also discuss, in detail the Informed Consent Doctrine and the difference between an independent contractor and an employee.

Chiropractic Management and Treatment of Headaches - Credit Hours: 2 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2024

Hour 1 Introduce the fact that headaches are a common health problem experienced by most people at some time. Discuss factors that lead to headaches such as: stress, depression and anxiety, high blood pressure, injury just to name a few. How to diagnose the basic types of Headaches and their characteristics such as: 1. Migraine headaches 2. Cluster headaches 3. Tension headaches 4. Sinus headaches Hour 2 Discuss natural headache remedies including diet, vitamins and minerals and herbals as they have also become a part in their management. Looking at lifestyle modification such as exercise, yoga, meditation may also be helpful. Discuss hands on therapy treatment such as massage, trigger point and others as a part of a treatment program.

Digestion and Absorption - Credit Hours: 1 Approval Valid Until 12/31/2024

The purpose of this course is to aid the Chiropractic Profession by providing Chiropractors with instruction necessary to understand the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system and how macronutrients are digested and absorbed into the blood stream.  This course will review the basic principles of the anatomy, neurology, and physiology of digestion and how some errors along this system may lead to disease in our patients.

This course will review the basic principles of the etiology of tension type headaches. We will also focus on the evaluation and treatment of patients suffering with this condition.
